Coat: smooth, short to long and shining
Characteristics and temperaments: Lively, intelligent, courageous and
brave. The Dachshund breed is somewhat reserved with strangers but bond very
well with his family of all ages. He is also moderately protective, sometimes
can be jealous. This dog also shows his independence occasionally
Avg Size of male: Height: 8 – 9 inches, Weight: 11 – 32 pounds

Care: Long-haired Dachshund requires daily combing and brushing. Trimming
and grooming is required for wire-haired
Training and activity: All variants need to be train consistently, but
Long-haired should be easier to train though. They are very active and love long
walk and play in the yard. The dogs should get enough exercises
